Progress Report: March 2026
And a book launch party in Vancouver
The Traveling Librarian
It’s been a while since I’ve written one of these. As I mentioned back in September, I’d started a new medication in early 2025, and it was a tough process to adapt to the side effects. The worst of these was persistent drowsiness that made it a real struggle to get through a day. I was able to write some new fiction and complete a few client commissions, but the act of revision required to get The Traveling Librarian to a publishable state was utterly beyond me.
Thankfully, after switching to an evening medication cycle, I’ve been able to reclaim my days and make the necessary edits to get Librarian through its final major revision!
That’s right, The Traveling Librarian is incredibly close to having a locked publication date. A final line edit and final proof still need to be completed, but I’m already well into the line edit. I am trying very hard to get this book out by the end of March, but at this point it will definitely be out before April is through. Stay tuned for the pre-order announcement coming soon.
Vanthology Book Launch Party
I know most of you aren’t near Vancouver, BC, but if you are, you’re invited to our launch party on Sunday, March 8th!
Vanthology is a little project I put together with a few local authors and I’m very proud of how well it turned out. The stories are a really fun mix of tales that blur the borders between fantasy, science fiction, horror, and romance.
Several of the participating authors will be in attendance, and we’ll be selling copies of Vanthology alongside titles from local authors. Like my book, The Wolf of the Library. If you’d like a signed copy of Wolf, this is your chance!
If you’re not able to attend the launch party, Vanthology paperbacks are only $14.99, and the proceeds help fund my group, The Vancouver Genre Writers, in our efforts to create community for local authors, run workshops, and attend conferences and book events.
State of the Newsletter
While I’ve primarily been focused on getting The Traveling Librarian published, I have been trying very hard to get semi-regular newsletter posts out again. I’ll be visiting family in Ontario for a week and then traveling to Sidney, BC, to present a panel at the Faerie & Fantasy Faire at the end of the month. Newsletter posts may be a bit scarce until April.
I’m also trying to spend more time on socials. If you’re not already following, come find me on Threads, Instagram, TikTok, and Bluesky!
Until next time, I’ll see you Among the Stacks.
